Laptop Processor

I'm thinking about getting the gateway 7805 FX laptop with the P8400 processor. I was thinking maybe it would be better to build a laptop with the 9 series processor such as a T9800. Do you think performance wise it will make much of a difference. The 7805 fx comes with a 320GB 7200rpm drive and 4GB of ddr3 1000mhz memory.
