How to order my MCSA

I went to the microsoft site, used my Windows live ID, and clicked on Welcome Kits and Certificates, but I don't see where I would order my MCSA. Also, how do I inform Microsoft that I have the A+ and the Network+ ?

It should be all the way at the bottom of the page.

Here's the link for your A+/Network+: Network+ Certification, Server+ Certification, MCSA

If you haven't transferred the, MS isn't going to acknowledge you as an MCSA, which is probably why it's not showing up.

Thanks Dynamic! I had it all wrong! I thought at first that I had to inform Microsoft about the Comptia certs, and then Comptia would verify it. I had it all backwards icon_lol.gif

by the way, it's a relatively quick process and you can track it too - keep an eye on the CompTIA CareerID website "history" section, and you'll see when the FYI email goes out to Microsoft. If you click on "details" you can see how many times it's been viewed. Obviously, when it's been viewed 0 times, MS hasn't processed it yet, but when it's been viewed 1 time then you know that it's been received & is being processed.

Within 1-2 business days, you'll be able to see the CompTIA exams listed on the MCP website...they'll have a funny code (my A+ & N+ show as exam code 3779) but they will show up there and be counted towards your MCSA.

Thanks Skrpune! I checked out the details for that email, and unfortunately it says:

    Viewed: 0 of 14 times icon_neutral.gif

I guess i'll have to be patient and wait a couple of days.

I have completed those steps to get my Security+ cert to show up on the MCP website this morning. However, my Microsoft transcript just looks like a list of a few MCPs (270/290/291) with Security+ added to the top of the list; no mention of MCSA anywhere on the transcript. Is there a delay between the time when Microsoft imports the CompTIA cert and when they recognize that the imported cert makes me an MCSA?

You may want to contact Microsoft about this.

If it's still like that after a day or two, then yeah, contact MCP support. But if you just got the info transferred over this morning, then it might take a smidge of time to get processed through the system & recognized for MCSA.

Yeah, it takes a day or two for it to show up. It happened with both my MCSE and MCSA. Exam showed up one day and the certification didn't show up until the next day or so.

Yup, that is what happened. Today it says "Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator" at the top of the list. Yippee!

Yes!!! I finally received my MCSA cert through the mail today! The cert looks just about the same as the MCP cert though icon_sad.gif. Ah well, I guess it's the meaning behind the cert that counts.
