Is this the place to ask about Sharepoint

If so...
We have Sharepoint 3 installed on a file server, with the database living on a SQL 2000 server.
The file server died, and I have no backup (I probably do, but let us assume that I dont)
I have a replacement file server all ready up and running, however, without the configuration database (which I can see lives on the file server?) I guess that I am hosed?
Can anyone shed light on this please?

As far as i remember.(i haven't touched a sharepoint in 2 years).
The configuration resides on the database, just reinstall the sharepoint and point it to the database it should work. -

I have got a spare, identical machine and a System State backup from before the front end was removed though, should be able to get back that way.
