Our moderator gave me permission to post this, so here goes:
We are proud to announce the completion of the second edition of Sybex Publishing's CWNA Study Guide - ISBN# 0470438908
All 16 chapters of the original CWNA Study Guide have been completely rewritten with updated topics, graphics and brand-new lab exercises. Some of the original chapters that used to be 20 pages in length are now 50 pages in length. In fact, the book is now 768 pages end-to-end. Two new chapters cover the topics of PoE and 802.11n. Over 300 flash cards, 550 practice test questions, numerous white papers, software and labs are all included on the CD that comes with the book.
Sybex Publishing is now the official publisher for the CWNP Program and the new second edition of the CWNA Study Guide is now the "OFFICIAL" CWNA Study Guide that helps you prepare for the current CWNA Exam (PWO-104).
While the study guide does cover all the objectives of the CWNA Exam (PWO-104), many other value added WLAN design and deployment topics are discussed with a real-world perspective. Even if you have already passed the CWNA exam, this book serves as an excellent reference guide for numerous Wi-Fi topics.
The authors are David Coleman, CWNE #4 and David Westcott CWNE #7.
The study guide comes out the first week of April/2009 and is available for pre-order via the link below:

Yes, we have just begun writing a Sybex CWSP(Certified Wireless Security Professional) Study Guide and it will be available sometime OCT/NOV of this year of 2009. As soon as it is available for pre-order, I will post to let everyone know!
There will also be a CWTS study guide available in June which was written by Robert Bartz.
CWTS is a new certification that replactes Wireless#. It is sort of a CWNA light -
rcoop Member Posts: 183I don't see any news of the CWTS on the CWNP web site. Is it recommended to start studying for the Wireless# or simply wait until June.
When looking for the Wireless# study guides I see they are out-of-stock at the CWNP store, and even Amazon looks like they are running low. The only other study guide I really see for the Wireless# is the more expensive "Wireless# Guide to Wireless Communications, Second Edition", and its "lab book".
Anyone have any thoughts on the Wireless# exam, and the existing study materials for it?
I will be eagerly awaiting information on the new CWTS certification program. Does it stand for Certified Wireless Technology Specialist?

Bokeh Member Posts: 1,636 ■■■■■■■□□□Wireless# gets retired 4/9/09. Preplogic still has their study guide available for download, and a lot of members here and on the cwnp.com site have used it to pass the exam. I myself take it 4/7.
I already have the PW0-104 book on order from Amazon, they say should ship 4/17 (rough estimate).
Glad to see an update to CWSP is coming out, I might have to hold out on buying a copy now. -

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I will just have to wait, as I don't think I could tackle the Wireless# in the next two weeks.
It's too bad that they don't extend testing until the CWTS is available.
Do you have a link that says when the last day to take the exam will be... looking at my VUE account it appears that I can schedule it well into May???
Thanks again for the information.

Bokeh Member Posts: 1,636 ■■■■■■■□□□New info on expiration date. The following was posted on my request for expiration date on wireless#.
Since the Wireless# and the CWTS are both considered entry level
certifications, you are not required to take both tests. You may move
straight from Wireless# to CWNA. If you take and pass Wireless# prior to
the May 31st 2009 deadline, you will automatically be CWTS certified once
the new certification is debuted.
I got this directly from the Customer Care Center. -
Fish! Member Posts: 42 ■■□□□□□□□□Update from Amazon today, they expect the new CWNA study guide to be in stock 30 March. I have had my pre-order in for some time now....I am really looking forward to this book. With two-day shipping I hope to have this in my hands Wednesday or Thursday next week. I have the CCNA Voice exam scheduled for next Friday, so timing is perfect.
