MCITP:EA Question

Hi,
I have recently just passed my 70-621 (Upgrading my MCDST), and am now looking at working towards my MCITP:EA. I will most likely get the MS Press books as they have served me relatively well previously, what are the general opinions of these books for this set of exams? Also I think the major way for me to be able to study sufficiently would be to run Server 2008 virtually on my computer, with a virtual client also. In your guys opinion, would this be a good way to study for someone without constant access to server hardware as I work on a helpdesk (but have a passion for IT), or can you suggest another way for me to do practice labs and learn Server 2008.
Thanks,
Brett

I install various features/rolls on the server to see how to set them up then play with them a bit. That's been good enough for me.
