Debug PPP

in CCNA & CCENT
I'm not able to see output when I run #debug ppp authentication, is there a command needed to make the output appear?

    Are you on the console port or did you use telnet/ssh to come into the router on a vty port?

    If you're on a vty port, you may need to issue the terminal monitor command to see the console log messages.

    If this isn't a study/lab question and is about real production equipment -- don't run the debug. Stop and ask someone who knows how the equipment is configured. Log messages could be sent to a buffer to be checked later (without filling up your console/telnet session) or they could be sent to a syslog server.

    And then the final question -- are you sure there is something to debug? What are you hoping to see and what actions are you taking to make it happen?
