1. You share a folder on your computer and you assigned the share permission Change to Everyone. John, a user from the Sales department, has been granted Full Control NTFS permission to the folder. John is also a member of the Sales group, which has been assigned Read NTFS permissions.
What are John's effective permissions when connecting to the shared folder?
a. Read
b. Read & Execute
c. Change
d. Full Control
Answer(s): c. Change
Explanation:
The effective NTFS permissions are the sum of the permissions assigned to user and to groups the user belongs to. (except for explicit deny permissions which overrides any other conflicting permissions assigned.) When you combine NTFS and Share permissions the most restrictive applies.
I think its A, as the explanation said that when you combine NTFS and Share permissions the most restrictive applies. Read is most restrictive than change. Because John is also a member of Sales group which assigned Read NTFS permisions.
Any comments

As the explanation says, combine NTFS and Share permission, you have to figure out what those are before you combine them. Check out the link above for a detailed explanation. I'll expand the explanation in the question to make it a bit more logical -
Webmaster Admin Posts: 10,292 AdminHmmm, I see I updated the explanation a while back already. They key word in it is "effective".....When you combine the effective NTFS permissions with the effective Share permissions the most restrictive applies...
