VLAN Database

Searched all over but cannot come up with a difinitive answer on this.

For the current CCNA, will there be a need to use the VLAN database method of VLAN'ing or should it all be done via interface, interface vlan and global config ?

Also, do we need to know the CATOS as well as IOS various commands for this ?

I would have thought there would be some area of the Cisco certification sections that would relate this but I was unable to find it.

No CatOS, and use the the new VLAN command, "(config)# vlan 10".

The current CCNA (using 2950/60) doesn't use the VLAN database i.e. as used by the 2900xl switches for vtp, uses global conf.
Just checked my "CCNA Portable Command Guide" and it uses the globol mode to create VLANs, then assigns them to interfaces in interface (range) conf mode.
