who's using corel painter x

Tutorial: Create a Fantasy Painting with Photoshop and Corel Painter :: Digital Image Magazine

I've found this link and the instructions are incomplete. I'm just curious to know how it's done. painting is one of my passion since I was a small kid but it never did materialize since I'm not good at free hand. With the advent of electronic painters maybe I can try it as cheaper hobby than the real one. thanks

To be honest I would avoid that tutorial like the plague. It's basically all about cheap compositing and filters. The end results are less than spectacular. If you want to jump in and learn digital painting I'd recommend taking a look around cgtalk.com and conceptart.org. They have a lot of tutorials and workshops that can get you into painting digitally. And definitely pick up a Wacom tablet as soon as you can.
