Load Generation

Hey everyone,

Are there any (good) tools to generate load on a Windows 2003/2008 server?

Say I wanted to simulate an overloaded disk or CPU? FOSS preferred.

Yes, there is. We used it in my VCP course when we were playing with the resource features. I can't recall the name of it, but I have it written down/saved somewhere. I'm actually in Indiana visiting some ailing relatives, so I don't have access to that at the moment. Send me a PM on the 10th or 11th if you still need help.

What is the reason for the test? Is this related to the Citrix issues you were having before?

    IOMeter

For CPU, try Prime95 with enough threads to soak all cores.
    Good luck to all!
