I'll start off saying I haven't been here in a while and took a break over about the last year and change from certifications. I got a bit interested in those mini/nano/pico-Itx systems and been thinking of different ways you can use them along with a ton of work and starting some college.
Anyways over the past few weeks I decided to get my CCNA back and took that on the 30th of April. Then just today I took the Convergence+ test.
I noticed that I haven’t seen much info on Convergence+ so I figure I would post my experience with it. I used the only book I’ve seen being sold at book stores. The book was McGraw Hill “CompTIA Convergence+ Study Guide” by Tom Carpenter and while taking the test realized that about a third of the stuff that was on the test wasn't covered in the book. The material that it did cover was broken down pretty well for the purpose of the exam. Only other note was about his coverage of wireless. In his bio he has a good amount of wireless certifications. Which may be why he went about 3 levels deeper into it then what is required for the exam. As far as stuff on the exam it was more or less like a light version of Network+, Security+, with analog/digital Voice, Video. Overall the exam wasn't that bad and I feel it will get me off on the right foot for CCNA Voice.
