Gaining experience

Good afternoon all,

I am currently studying up for the MCSA certification and have been searching for internships to gain some real-world experience.

Thus far, I haven't had much luck solidifying any, and am starting to run out of time.

Does anyone have good advice on how to solve this problem? How did some of you gain your initial experience?

If you can swing it, try volunteering/donating your time to churches, non-profits, etc. Most often, these networks suck, and there will be plenty for you to do.

Goodluck and try to set up a lab and do some practice,it does help. When i first started my certification in 2006,i was still doing my second year in University and i didn't get the real hands on experience untill July 2008.Before then,i attempted to all the labs and try tried different scenarion.I was not so bad when i finally get to put it into the real environment.
