Automatically deleting received read receipts in Outlook 2003

Is there a way to set up the read receipts, so that once you click on them, then go to the delete folder, instead of having to manually delete them? I have one user here who demands receipts on all her mail, then complains about having to delete them.

Yes, easy way is to tell her to stop, but shes done it this way for years.

I don't know, but you could probably set up a rule so they all go in their own folder instead of cluttering up the inbox. Then she'd just have to periodically empty that folder. That might be an acceptable compromise.

Setup a rule to move it to the deleted items folder possibly? I guess setup a rule based on the subject containing "Read:" and maybe only sent to you.

No need for custom rules. I get read receipts on all my mail...

Set the following options within the users' Outlook client:

Tools > Options > Tracking Options >

Process requests and responses on arrival [Checked]
Process receipts on arrival [Checked]
After processing, move receipts to [Checked] (and point it to Deleted Items)
Delete blank voting and meeting responses after processing [Checked]
