Just in case you're not on their email lists, Transcender & Self Test appear to have permanently lowered their prices by $40. Individual practice exams for are now $99 for Transcender and $69 for Self Test.

Good timing for me since I'm about to take 70-294 and will need either 70-297 or 70-298 afterwards.

That's either a desperate move because their sales have been tanking, or an incredibly shrewd one and a move to gain more sales while everyone's looking to improve their skillsets.

Wish they'd done this two months ago, would have saved me a bit hehe

I've been getting Transcenders forever for $75. I'd sometimes get one from getcertify4less along with my voucher.

I went to the Transcender site a few days back and am a little confused. What exactly to they provide? The $99 Transcender test, for instance, is that a simulation of the actual exam? In my case I am studying for 70-431. Is the purchase limited to 1 practice test? With 70-431 that would be around 40 questions. Also, since 70-431 included simulations, would transcender have simulations in their product?

    Thanks

You only get one practice exam, but you can go through it as much as you want (or as much as you can get in 30 days if you go that route). You get a much larger test pool than the actual exam, usually between 100-200 questions. I just go through the questions 5-10 at a time, but they do have a few "practice exams" that are a set number of questions within a set period of time. They do include a few sims, drag-n-drops, etc. However, the sims aren't any substitution for genuine lab work, but they'll give you a little practice.

Thanks for the info. I might just go ahead and spend the money and use it a few weeks before the exam to find weaknesses.
Using practice tests towards the end of my Linux+ preparation really helped me isolate my weak points.
