ICS and Recursion

Not really understanding the need for ICS to understand recursion.
Doing the MSpress book, and on 4-57 4-58 they have you enable ICS, then perform some queries to understand recursion.
I changed the NIC's primary DNS server on server2 to point to the IP of server1, and this had recursion working just fine.
Basically, I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything important here.

When you configure ICS your server 2 is receiving an ip address and server 1 is automatically configured as the DNS server. If you've statically assigned server 1 as server 2's DNS server and they're both connected by a router that manages DHCP then you're fine.AWS: Solutions Architect Associate, MCSA, MCTS, CIW Professional, A+, Network+, Security+, Project+
