So I've been milling over a new Phone. We have a BES server here at work, but I'm still not sold on getting a BB. I have Sprint so I thought I was going to bit the bullet and get an

Then I had this Palm Pre thing dropped on me.

So, BB, iPhone, G1, Storm, Palm, is it just me or is every new smart phone that comes out the "next big thing" anymore?

Keep in mind that Apple's big announcement will come two days after the Pre's release. I'll be getting a Pre or an iPhone this summer, based on how they compare. I'm with Sprint currently, but I'm out of my contract.

It all really depends on what you need.

I chose a Blackberry because it fits my needs as a PDA, and it's really good at email. Anything else is just fluff for me.

There are actually a number of articles comparing the Pre to the current iPhone and they pretty much put them dead on.

What have you found about the iPhone that is holding you back? Well, other than a new one is coming out?

My contract was only up within the last six months, so I wanted to see how the Pre and any other new devices compared to each other before I made a decision. I'm usually a tad impulsive, but I decided I'd rather wait a few months when dealing with a new two-year contract.
