hi all,

I currently hold the certs to my left <--- I am keen to break into business intelligence and database development/security. I also have 2 years 2nd line support experience and a College Certificate in Software development - translation : I know some Java, C, and VB and understand the development lifecycle...

I am looking at the 70-431 exam as my next step - what do you all think? Am a skipping something? Should I maybe hit the MCSA first and get some more server admin experience? and so on...

Thanks and don't be afraid to be harsh! icon_twisted.gif

No need. 431 is the first cert. I will say know SSMS inside and out as there are quite a few sims on standard tasks - worded terribly i might add. Its not so much SQL based, though you need to know what's going on, its more administrative based - ie task and concept related.

I was frustrated for a couple of weeks at first because all of the concepts were brand new to me. I wish I had gotten a CBT nugget for it.
