Certification vs. demand/supply

binarysoulbinarysoul Member Posts: 993
In your opinion, which certification is oversupplied or under-supplied in the IT labour market? Of course there is no objective answer as everybody has a different perception.

I think MCSE/MCSA followed by CCNA are more abundant than jobs for these? For under-supply, I would think there are fewer security experts than there's demand for it.

What do you think?

Is that including the people who dumped the certifications and aren't really qualified to do the job?

What about the truck drivers and grocery store clerks who heard the ad on the radio and want to "Earn the money you deserve" and signed up with the fly-by-night training school to earn their A+, Net+, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP in 6 months?

No, these gangs aren't included in demand/supply. But you've raised a good point :)

Don't hate icon_sad.gif I was flipping pizzas between jobs with a CCNP, CCNA, CCIP, and CCDA. you do what you've gotta do to put bread on the table ;)

I think that many people have CCNA/MCSE because every employer wants them. If you go to monster and do a search you get zillions of hits.

    CCNA Security | GSEC |GCFW | GCIH | GCIA
