I am new to IT, and I think I can troubleshoot basic pc stuff, install widows, fix dns server etc....
I want to be database admin or go into security, which is demand and what will stay in demand ?
I am going to University of Phoenix for my BS IT and then plan on getting master of info system from arizona state W.P . Carry.
Should I take A+, Network+, MCSA certification to get my self in the door ? What do I do basically, whats certs ?
My experienc:
4- years of PC administrator, fixing pc problem in the offie
1- year of Web Admin Teir 1 Tech support
Any suggestion ?
Ben

what? O_O
Anyway, take your A+ first. Then go after network+ and MCSA. Are you mainly interested in windows server?Present goals: MCAS, MCSA, 70-680 -
CompuTron99 Member Posts: 542I doesn't look like you are "that" new to IT. You seem to have experience and are working towards your degree.
If you are looking at certifications, you coulld always do the A+, Network+, Security+ route. Or, you could throw in some Microsoft certs and work towards an MCSA or MCSE.
Good Luck. -
