Help 2950 or 3524?

in CCNA & CCENT
Im on a tight budget already did the ccna but failed by little but i want a switch that i can use to pass ccna and ccnp what are your recommendations and the differences between both i apreciate your help please be detailde if you can.

miller811 Member Posts: 897Do not waste your time with the 3524 switches. Purchase the 2950 and if possible purchase 2. The 2950 is a newer switch which runs a newer version of IOS.
Here is the example of the only way to configure VLANs on the 3500 series switch. As you can see, it is still available on the 2950 or 3550 in my case, but it is telling you this is not the way to do it. The CCNA will teach you and ultimately test you on the new way to configure VLANs. The 3500 series switches were never/and never will be updated to configure them in the new way.
