about one of the technote questions
What are valid data rates for a Token Ring network? (Choose 2)
a. 4 Mbps
b. 10 Mbps
c. 16 Mbps
d. 100 Mbps
This question somewhat confused me, the Fiber Distributed Data Interface is another token ring network that supports 100 Mbps. I got it wrong cause the answers were a and b.
How come d is not a right answer??

mobri09 Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 723-On Regular token ring networks the transfer rate is 4mbps and 16mbps.
-HSTR (High Speed Token Ring) = 100 mbps
-FDDI travels over Fiber media usually for backbones on Networks, therefore the transfer rate is 100 mbps.
-Where was this question from? -

You can read the details and differences between Token Ring and FDDI in the following TechNotes:
www.techexams.net/technotes/networkplus/mediatopo.shtml
mobri09 explained it very well. HSTR supports 100 Mbps, but in this question I mention Token Ring, which generally refers to the 4 and 16 Mbps version, else it would explicitely mention the HS part. -
