Trying to decide

Ok I'm currently in the position of deciding what certs are best for me to take.
Iv'e had one I.T job, was a tech desk support role, the job covered pretty much every aspect I could of hoped for, from hardware installations, networking, administration, security, developement, sales etc
Now I currently hold MCP status (yeh xp exam go me...) lol
So, I want to focus primarily on security side of things, but obviously it's not the easiest to get into?
I'm definitely going for CompTIA security+ / Network+
Considering MCITP:EA
My main concern is what's its worth and current standings within current work enviroments? Anyone have any suggestions

I would think, with your experience and your MCP, a good place to start would be the MCSA with a security specialty. It appears that Security+ can be applied to one of the security exam requirements.
But, anyway, Security+ is a very good place to start. You get a very broad understanding of issues and solutions. On the other hand, you need to pursue the implementations on your own--but you will know where to start(maybe you already do!).

ipconfig.all Banned Posts: 428Depending on your interests of course. Why don't you go for Cisco Certifications, such as CCNA, CCENT etc. They are in demand and it would be ideal if you want to learn more in dept about networking and espcially about routers.

Yeah doing comptia security plus would give you a solid foundation understanding of I.T security. Later on you may want to give cissp a try.

MCITP EA would be great also because soon the Windows server 2008's will take over the Windows server 2003's
