Going to do security+ shortly, and I am likely to continue in security certifications--I was thinking I might do i-net+ to get CIW associate level and then do CIW-Security.
Any other suggestions?

Webmaster Admin Posts: 10,292 AdminCIW-Security is an option indeed. Personally I'd go for the CCSA or SSCP exam.

Zraxniah Member Posts: 27 ■□□□□□□□□□I'm afraid I don't qualify for SSCP as my job is not technically security related? CCSA is a vendor certification -- does it cover Check Point products primarily? I'm not familiar with the company and can't seem to find much training text online.

Webmaster Admin Posts: 10,292 AdminYes, it is pretty vendor specific, but read the following post and notice the first paragraph:

JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,090 AdminI don't see any evidence that the security industry knows that the CIW certs exist. You should give higher priority to obtaining certs that are well-known in the industry that you are interested in working.
If you want to stay vendor neutral, then you should favor the SSCP (https://www.isc2.org/cgi-bin/content.cgi?category=20). If you don't have the one-year of work experience required, then have a look at the SCNP (http://www.securitycertified.net/SCNP_certifications.htm) and the GSEC (http://www.giac.org/subject_certs.php#GSEC). Of these three, the GSEC seems to be the most well-known, but the SSCP is a good stepping stone towards the CISSP (https://www.isc2.org/cgi-bin/content.cgi?category=19).
Probably the most recognised vendor-specific security cert is Cisco's CCSP (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/learning/le3/le2/le37/le54/learning_certification_type_home.html).
