Why isn't XP caching DNS queries?

Why is it that when I revisit let's say cnn.com after 30 seconds, XP is doing a DNS lookup?

How can I have XP cache these (other than via host list)? Is XP suffering from shot-term memory loss ?

That is strange, the default cache ttl is supposed to be 24 hours. You haven't been messing about in the registry right?

Also, is your DNS client service running from the services.msc?

if cnn.com set the ttl for their dns entries to a very small value, that would explain it.
