Adding new disk array.
At work we just got a new disk array because our current file server is running out of space. We have dfs setup on our file server and were wondering what you guys would suggest as the best way to add this new disk array to our current file server without having the user go to another folder for additional storage.
One option was to move the whole structure over to the new array (which would suck) and just add the old storage as additional storage to the new array. What are some other options?
The bad thing is I know if you move folders the permission are suppose to follow it as well, but it is possible for the move to get interrupted which would be a hassle.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

It would be nice if Microsoft had a tool that would help with this. Oh wait, they do.

Great for migrating from one server to another or a server to dfs.
If you just want to move the data from the smaller E: drive to the larger F: drive, Robocopy will do that easily. Robocopy has switches that maintain the permissions, but you will need to re-map the share to the new drive letter and path. Since your users access their data through a server and share name, they won't care that the folder is on a new drive letter.

I've messed with robocopy a little...don't know why I didn't think of it as an option.

What I am doing now is doing a restore job from a full backup of our file server and putting it on the new array. It looks like all the permissions are there. I will look at it again once the restore is complete.Knowledge is Power.
