Is anybody using Hyper-V for production work? I mean, as an actual virtual environment (instead of Xen and VMware) and not just as a component of Server 2008. Just curious...

yes, we do.

total CoO is lower than vmware for us. We run about a dozen hosts and a good bit of our infrastructure services on VMs. A consulting firm we dealt with also runs a hyper-v farm to host servers for clients.

I have to agree that in small to medium firms that hyper V; particularly R2 is a very compelling product because of the lower implimentation costs.
