Whats the difference between /owa and /exchange?

Does anyone know the differences between using /owa and /exchange when trying to access an OWA site?

For a given CAS server /owa only works for users with Exchange 2007 mailboxes on the back end, and /exchange will work for users with Exchange 2003 mailboxes, plus will redirect Exchange 2007 users back to /owa.
