Vista requiring password?

My grandfather purchased a Toshiba A215-S7444. He shut the lid and it went into hibernation. When he turned it back on it is asking for a password, he never set one. I've had him try leaving it blank and using Password but neither worked.

I always set my own passwords so I have never had this issue. Anyone have any ideas?
