I used Sybex CCNA study guide and read that cover to cover. Its easy to follow but has small gaps so used the Cisco press to fill in the Gaps. I found the Cisco press harder to follow but if you use the Do I already know this quizes then you can tailor your need around your existing knowledge.
I then used the Boson CCNA test to practice for the exam. Some hands on with routers or a simulator wouldnt go a miss either. Boson is a good one but rather expensive. A Couple of 2501's from ebay will not cost you a great deal.
There are a lot of people who just read one books then use all the dodgy commercial test software, but to me thats pointless as your not arctually learning the matertial just the anserws to potential questions!
