Pretty simple thread... I'm on the pursuit of what exactly I want with my career and I'm looking into the true engineer/architect part of IT..

Anyone know about ITAC?

    ITAC: IT Architect Certification Program

I've heard of it, but I've never met anyone with it.

I know that architecture is intended to be vendor-neutral, but I think the reality is that there is very little demand for vendor-neutrality in IT at the moment.

It's one of those things that everyone likes to pay lip service to, but the reality is totally different.

My advice, rather than pursuing this, pick a big vendor horse and ride it...

Maybe I'll try to find out what some of the course material tries to teach... I'm more curious of what I could learn than the rigorous certification path this tries to take you down... It's the exact same feelings I have for the MCA.

I normally also check how frequent that particular certification is asked for on job sites.
I just found one hit, which is on monster :

Enterprise Architect - SOA Solution Architect - UK Wide Job in Multiple locations

    ($116k - $150k)

But even there, ITAC is just one of the qualification which is being considered.

Edit: Just read about it a bit .. I must say - it sounds damn interesting ... What is interesting, what I haven't seen before, is that part of the certification seems to be an interview as well (Level 1 : Phone, Level 2 : Face-to-Face).

    Ouch though :
