IOS filenames

Could someone give me a link to an explanation of Cisco IOS filenames. For example, what do the letters stand for in this filename
flash:c2500-i-l.121-18.bin
I am assuming the IOS is 12.1 not sure about the i-l and -18
Many thanks in advance
