Upgrading Cisco 2500

CSCOnoobCSCOnoob Member Posts: 120
Hello.

I am getting ready to upgrade the flash and DRAM for my 2500 to follow INE's topology. Anyway, I read somewhere that I need to have a higher BOOTSTRAP version to recognize the memory. Is that true? I saw a Cisco 2500 series router that had 16/16 but was running on the same BOOTSTRAP version as my 2500s. I don't know which one to believe. Any help will be appreciated!

I had to upgrade my old 4.x 2500's to run the max 3rd party memory. The old 5.x ROMs work fine with the 3rd party memory -- so I never bothered upgrading those.

I got my upgrades to the 11.X ROMx for $7 each on eBay (from a guy in Indiana).

There's probably a couple threads about 2500 ROMs and upgrades in the CCNA forum.
