InfoSec Tools?
Hey fellas, I have a couple of questions for you seasoned Security Officers out there...
I'm not an InfoSec Admin yet, but hope to be soon. I have been reading the Security+ book by Darril Gibson, and he lists a few tools that may be used in the real world. How many of you in the Security profession use some sort of network security tool and what would you reccomend based on performance? I'm thinking of setting up a lab where I can install and test some of these tools out so I can be familiar with them and possibly implement them in a real world scenario.
On to Chapter 5 and practice questions. So far Darril's book has been very easy to read, keeping my attention span right where it needs to be. He lists some real experiences, and cites some examples to help the content make sense. So far I give the book about an 8.5 to a 9. I'll probably end up getting an Exam Cram book following the conclusion of Darril's book. Just a little info for those considering Darril's book.

You're welcome! Just be careful, it's addictive"Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts.” -

BTW, please post your lab setup if you don't mind
