GIAC GSEC Advice needed...

I have the 2008 SANS courseware (6 books) and mp3 files from the lectures.

My question is would this material still be current enough to Challenge the GSEC EXAM and pass it?

They do update the material periodically, so they probably aren't "current". However, the majority of the material will probably be the same. You get two practice exams with the challenge, so you can make note of whatever areas aren't covered and research them on your own. These are open book/notes, so you can bring in whatever else you need.
