Programming (xhtml, and python)
Anyone know of a forum as helpful and populated as here? mainly xhtml, and python. Both are required courses at my school for a AAS in network administration. I know hardly a thing about python, and I did some html back in the day a bit, and editing other web based(like addons for phpbb and what not).
And maybe a good, small current book, or ebook, relating to both as more of a intro, that doesn't go too overboard?

Amazon.com: HTML & XHTML: The Definitive Guide (6th Edition) (9780596527327): Chuck Musciano, Bill Kennedy, Musciano Chuck, Kennedy Bill: Books
Amazon.com: Learning Python (Animal Guide) (9780596158064): Mark Lutz, Lutz Mark: Books
Not sure about other forums, but you're free to ask around here.

Slowhand Mod Posts: 5,161 ModI've always like the WROX series of books when it comes to learning programming languages. Have a look at the following:
The format of the Beginning books is very straightforward. You're usually working on a comprehensive project throughout the book, building pieces and adding to it as you learn various skills. I really liked this approach, since you're doing more than self-contained "toy" programs and assignments for each chapter.
The Professional books by WROX are straight-up reference manuals on the languages and technologies they cover, with no examples or how-to's. They're pretty good, but you can find other books like them from various vendors, (sometimes better and sometimes not, so shop around).
Another series that WROX does is the Problem * Design * Solution, which works the same way as the beginner books, covers advanced topics as part of a larger, professional-level project. These books are a great way to put it all together and step up to production-quality work once you've got a hang of the basics.

Just keep in mind that their Python book is for 2.4 and not the newer 3.0. There are some pretty substantial differences, so be sure to get a book that is appropriate for what you're doing.
