which exam to take?

I have only passed one certification last year which is the 70-270. My plan to finish MCSA last year did not materialize and now I'm thinking if it is still viable to take Windows server 2003 and pursue MCSA or should I go for the newer certifications like windows 7 and server 2008. thank in advance. Happy new year to everyone.

The 2003 path (MCSA/MCSE) is still a highly valued one and is considered to be one of the most recognizable and sought-after skill-sets in IT today. Unless you're already working with Windows Server 2008, I would go ahead and start off on 70-290, 70-291, and then do the Windows 7 exam as your elective. Once you've done that, you've got the MCSA, and you can decide if you want to upgrade from there, or continue on to the MCSE and upgrade after that.

Do you know about the two tracks for Server 2008, and how the upgrades work?
