passing score?
the passing score for a+ hardware exam right now is 515 scaled in 100-900. so whats the 50% of 100-900 scale? is it 500? so that means that i need to get minimum 52% correct answers in the exam to pass

Yes, you can earn a maximum of 800 points. If you score 50% correct, you'd get 400 points, plus the initial 100 is 500. -

Janmike is absolutely right. The calculation would be true only if all questions were rated equally and if all questions are scored. Which is not the case, but the exact scoring is only known by CompTIA. (You won't know which items are scored and which are not).
