Hey guys I am interviewing for my first IT job tomorrow with a local IT company. The company does networking solutions, system builds, and training for companies who don't have their own IT staff.
I got an email back from them within 2 hours of emailing my resume so they must of liked something. I have an A.S. in Network Administration and my Network+ certification as well if this helps.
I was just wondering if any of you have any tips or advice along with what to expect. Thanks.

aordal Member Posts: 372I would visit their website and get a good idea of what they do if you haven't already. Also, look at the job requirements. Alot of tech job postings have a laundry list of technologies they want you to be familiar with. If there is anything on there you arent familiar with google them and try to get at least some basic info on whatever it is.
Also, don't lie. If they ask you how familiar you are with something be honest but let them know you're willing to learn! -
Bokeh Member Posts: 1,636 ■■■■■■■□□□Ask them for the job. Too many people go into interviews, and dont bother to ask for the position. It shows initiative and desire. (That is if you like what they have to say, the location, etc). Always follow up with a thank you email or note (again if you like what you saw, etc). Never discuss money, if they ask what you want, ask them for something along the lines of your background and education/certs. Then ask them what they have in mind.

Ask a lot of questions about the company. I don't mean questions on how much they will pay you, ask about the office culture, what the team you will be working with is like (how many of them, etc) -

Good luck and let us know how it went."Bribe is such an ugly word. I prefer extortion. The X makes it sound cool."
