Anyone know of a tool to create *.msi files from scratch? I am searching for something preferably freeware for commercial use, as I work for a non-profit company, so anything free is preferred.
Currently what I have are some crude installers from *.zip files that I want to create *.msi from in order to push through gpsi.
I have dug around a little bit, just want figured I would post here to see if anyone has something they prefer to use or have used in the past.
Thanks!

seuss_ssues Member Posts: 629I know this probably isn't the type of response that you want and no i havent extensively researched it...but no. I don't know of a good way to make msi files.
Usually i write a script that does a silent install of a product (if possible) and then applies some type of config file to it. Then i push my script via GP. -

Claymoore Member Posts: 1,637Try the AppDeploy free repackager. I haven't used their repackager, but their site is great for application packaging tips.
AppDeploy.com > AppDeploy Tools > the AppDeploy Repackager
You could also try WinInstall LE as a free download:

The AppDeploy site seems to have a look of good information, so am going to dig around some more on there.MCTS: Windows Vista, Configuration
