ios version on a cat 4503
Heya
I managed to get a 4503 for dirt cheap the other day (like 800 bucks), and would like to pimp up the IOS before I sell it to someone else for double or triple the price, atleast. And my gf doesn't like the noise, so I gotta get rid of it
CISCO CATALYST 4500 CHASSIS 3- SLOT
CISCO CATALYST 4500 SUP II PLUS IOS 2 GBIC CONS RJ45
WS-X4548-GB-RJ45
Will this one do the trick?
cat4500-entservicesk9-mz.122-53.SG.bin
Thanks for any input, I appreciate it

you intend to get across, then it is not focused

Anyway, would that ios I mentioned work? Wouldn't wanna brick it being the noob that I am. -
tiersten Member Posts: 4,505Feature Navigator doesn't list enterprise services as a valid IOS feature set for a Catalyst 4500 with a Sup II Plus.
Latest/greatest for a Sup II Plus is 12.2.53.SG1 IP Base + Crypto. So no, don't load that IOS on it. I doubt you'd brick it but you might end up having to do a painfully slow XMODEM transfer. -
mens Member Posts: 69 ■■■□□□□□□□ah thanks tiersten. I totally forgot about the feature navigator, silly me.

Forsaken_GA Member Posts: 4,024yeah, the chassis are relatively cheap, all things considered. The line cards and the supervisor engines are where the cost is. You can pickup a 6509-E chassis for a fraction of the cost that a Sup720-3B(X|C)L with dCef linecards will cost.
