I've just been reading about the security best-practices of using SNMP: Using v3, keeping SNMP traffic on a dedicated OOB network, etc. It all sounds good to me, and I understand the concepts here, but SNMP seems like a whole domain of study that I havn't come across. The CCNA curriculum touches on it too, but does Cisco get into the heart of managing their devices with SNMP anywhere else in the cirtification path ? CCNP?
I'd like to download some trial version of a management app (Solarwinds, for example), then play around in the lab with managing my ASR's with it.

The only touch about the benefits of the Version 3, I did not do any practice lab for that.

SNMP gets really in depth, and there is so much you can do with it configuration wise, unfortunately Cisco studies never really get into it that much
