Sizing DC partitions for 2008 R2

I'm going to be upgrading our domain to 2008 R2. We put our NTDS and Sysvol on different partitions. I'm looking for guideance on how to size these partitions for W2K8 R2.

I read that with the new features like the recycle bin in AD you want to allow for additional room. I don't want to get caught short.

We have a single forrest/domain with about 800 users.

Well for comparisons sake, our domain was at 60,000 users, 3500 machines, and a couple hundred servers and the entire NTDS.dit was ~600mb.

Doesnt take a large amount of room for it.

You should have at least 60GB on your C: partition for a Server 2008 R2 box. I would recommend 100GB though, gives you plenty of room for growth for your domain/logs/patches.

Our database now is only 104MB. We have a 5GB partition which is hardly used.

So on a 2008 R2 DC that should be more than enough space. I should even be able to do database defrags with that size. Right?
