rapid-pvst and packet tracer = fail ?

Ok i've setup three switches in a test network running rapid-pvst, however traffic is getting blocked on a root port on the secondary root switch for a paticular vlan, the other ports are desg FWD.

All connected via trunks and i've setup one switch as primary root for VLAN 22
and then another switch setup as secondary root for VLAN 22, off the secondary switch there is a trunk connection going off to a router for inter-vlan routing.

Here's the output of the spanning-tree instance on the primary root switch for vlan 22.

Interface Role Sts Cost Prio.Nbr Type
---- ---

Fa0/1 Desg FWD 19 128.1 P2p
Fa0/2 Desg FWD 19 128.2 P2p
Fa0/4 Desg FWD 19 128.4 P2p

And for my secondary root for vlan 22

Interface Role Sts Cost Prio.Nbr Type
---- ---

Fa0/1 Altn BLK 19 128.1 P2p
Fa0/2 Desg FWD 19 128.2 P2p
Fa0/3 Root FWD 19 128.3 P2p

Third switch on the segment of my primary root (f0/1) is going off to the secondary root.

Interface Role Sts Cost Prio.Nbr Type
---- ---

Fa0/1 Altn BLK 19 128.1 P2p
Fa0/2 Desg FWD 19 128.2 P2p
Fa0/3 Root FWD 19 128.3 P2p

Packet Tracer is one of the most bugged programs I've ever encountered. I can't tell you how many times I've had it bomb out on me in the middle of something or, just simply, not work. There are some combinations that the app will not take no matter how much you want it to do so. That fact that you were able to get it to work after re-doing it (sometimes just closing and reopening the app will work) does not surprise me in the slightest.
