Must I take CCNP before CCSP? CCSP home lab req?
fesodes
Hi,
I'm deciding which route to go next. Will it be much easier for me to take CCNP before CCSP? Say if your goal is to get both certified. Which route will you go first?
Secondly, what kind of equipment is required for CCSP? I know I need a PIX firewall but what else?
Thanks

CCNP appears to be a good foundation to all of the other Professional level certifications. I will be taking my final CCDP (ARCH) test on Thursday. Studying for the CCNP really helped with the CCDA and the CCDP. Security is covered a little in both the Network and Design certs so you will have a 1 up when you specialize your studies strictly for Security.
I believe that a good set of equipment to start with would be:
PIX
IDS
VPN Concentrator and client software
RADIUS Server
TACACs server
CW2000 IPSec/VPN
