XP Will not repair
Bokeh
HP Laptop, 2gb memory.
XP SP3 had some issues needing a repair. Upon running the repair function from CD, the following error is showing up numerous times:
SVhost.exe application error. Ref @ 0x069b2981 Ref @ 0x00000000 could not be written.
Goes through the rest of the install, then hangs on the splash screen saying please wait.
Anyone have any ideas? User has way too much info on the computer to do a wipe and fresh install.

You might be able to run chkdsk /r to fix those bad sectors on the hard drive.

Can you boot into safe mode or recovery console? I think that error has to do with Windows update. Use a bartPE CD and build a ghost plugin and ghost the data off.
