rip route advertisements

in a BSCI lab portfolio, under route optimization section there is stated:
i dont quite get it, where does it come from? i made a lab and it also showed, that rip does advertise routes on the same major (classful?) network with different subnet mask...

A common problem with redistributing routes between RIP and OSPF is that RIP does not advertise routes out an interface if those routes are on the same major network but have a different mask than that particular interface.
