why copy the policies into some other place again?
in some tutorial I saw the instructor copy the polices directory into another place, why is that?

crrussell3 Member Posts: 561One can only guess that you are refering to Group Policy Central Stores? The main reason for doing this, is that the GPME looks for a Central Store first, then looks local. If you maintain the Central Store with all the current/up to date default/custom adm/admx files, its only one location that needs updating. Otherwise, every workstation that may edit group policy objects would need to have its local files updated whenever a new adm/admx is added or modified.MCTS: Windows Vista, Configuration
