Wireshark Application

Hey guys, Quick question...

I realize Wireshark can be used to monitor packets, but can it also be used to monitor bandwidth between servers? I have 3 Windows boxes and 1 AS/400 box that are supposed to be running at 1 GB. Can Wireshark monitor this bandwidth for me? If not, what would you guys recommend on the cheap (FREE)?

If you just want to see how much is coming/going on each servers network connection then use SNMP to monitor the counters for each port.

You can use Wireshark to monitor bandwidth, although as stated there are better solutions. SNMP/Nagios is probably your best bet.
