I need help with a DDC (direct cable connection)
Hi! I have two computers with windows 98 and I want to transfer the files from one computer to another...so I have to network them first. I'm trying to do the files tranfers with a Direct Cable Connection using a serial cable.
I bought a null serial cable and connected both 98 computers and installed the neccesary protocols and programs and did the sharings to the "host" and "guest" computers. I Can't get them to see each other...for some reason the Direct Cable Connection wizard starts, but at the end it tells me that " the host computer's shared folders are not accesible".
Is there something that I'm doing that I shouldn't or viceversa?
I need some help here please!

Save yourself the trouble and go out and buy yourself 2 NICS 2 Cat5\6 cables and a hub\switch and network the 2 PC's together. It will take you longer to fix the problem you are having now then to network the 2 PC's together. You can buy a "Network in a Box" kit that comes with everything you need for the 2 PC's for under $100.CCNP Security - DONE!
