I ran into two InfoSec recruiters at Defcon 16 back in 2008. They were putting together a very comprehensive survey on the state of employment and careers in the world of Information Security. Here are their just-published survey results; it is a must-read for people planning their InfoSec career:

Thanks for the info JD! I've been trying to do some career planning over the last couple of weeks, and this is a great resource.
